The Monte Cristo Ecological Reserve is a 250 acre reserve dedicated to reforestation, sustainable agriculture, and eco-tourism.  The reserve is run by the Pacheco family, and is designed as a sustainable model of development for the Amazon region.  It currently has reforestation projects, harvests coffee and avocados, and run eco-tours throughout Machu Pichu and the amazon region.
